Our Story:
Three Generations of Simpson Forklift
WHERE IT STARTED: STAN SIMPSON
The Simpson family's legacy in the forklift and material handling industry began with Stan Simpson and his heavy equipment engineering firm. There, Stan designed and manufactured what was, at the time, the world's largest rough terrain forklift, a machine so capable it was sold to military operations around the world. That spirit of engineering excellence and hard work became the foundation for everything that followed.
BUILDING THE BUSINESS: KERRY SIMPSON
Kerry Simpson started his career at his father's firm, where he helped engineer and build that record-setting forklift. In 1998, he took everything he had learned and opened a small forklift shop in Sacramento. By 2006, the business had grown enough that Kerry incorporated Simpson Forklift and expanded its operations and services to all of Northern California, with Vacaville as home base. Kerry has never been one for the spotlight, and you won't find him on social media. What you will find is a man who knows forklifts inside and out and has worked tirelessly to give every customer a fair deal. Customers who've written reviews mention his honest pricing and same-day delivery. That same drive shows up off the job: Kerry is an avid off-road dirt bike rider who has won a long list of awards over the years. Today, he remains actively involved in the business as he hands the reins to the third generation, and everything Simpson Forklift is today was built on his nearly three decades of hard work.
THE NEXT GENERATION: JACOB SIMPSON
Jacob grew up around these machines and learned the trade from the ground up. He joined the family business as an apprentice and quickly proved he shared his grandfather's and father's natural aptitude for the industry. Over the years, his dedication has been instrumental in growing our inventory and expanding the types of clients we serve.
Today, Jacob steps into the role of President and will carry Simpson Forklift forward, building on the foundation his father laid. He brings more than mechanical expertise: he understands exactly what our buyers need. Rather than overselling, Jacob and his team take a consultative approach and make thoughtful recommendations so every customer gets the right forklift and the right options for their operation.
